Citizens United Party

C.U.P. Declaration- Aside from all badgering from current School Board member Flanagan, The CUP is committed to stay out of the SD 81 election this April, it is our platform that over politicization of our School District by the current, former mayor and current board of trustees is not healthy for the School District. We call on all Village political parties to remove themselves from the District 81 election. Another note: because one or two residents walk in a CUP event, paid for tickets to hear the candidates speak and then ask sincere questions about town does not mean there is a political marriage between the two. Any resident who wants to pay for a ticket and contribute positively to the dialog at a CUP event is welcomed. We will never kick out anyone who wants to listen, and is a resident and has questions and engage in positive dialogue. Thanks Again.

Above quoted from the Citizens United Party

Lets break it down:

Aside from all badgering from current School Board member Flanagan, The CUP is committed to stay out of the SD 81 election this April, it is our platform that over politicization of our School District by the current, former mayor and current board of trustees is not healthy for the School District.

This presents a problem. A rather large problem. The community basically paid zero attention to the school, and its elected board. The outcome of this is currently being felt by every member of this community. Those who have children in School District 81 get hit doubly hard. Not only does their children’s education suffer, but their tax money has gotten senselessly wasted on what the C.U.P. party has vowed to change – “Cronyism”. Well what is a village trustee, and what are their responsabilities?

1. General powers of the board of trustees. a. In addition to any other powers conferred upon villages, the board of trustees of a village shall have management of village property and finances, may take all measures and do all acts, by local law, not inconsistent with the provisions of the constitution, and not inconsistent with a general law except as authorized by the municipal home rule law, which shall be deemed expedient or desirable for the good government of the village, its management and business, the protection of its property, the safety, health, comfort, and general welfare of its inhabitants, the protection of their property, the preservation of peace and good order, the suppression of vice, the benefit of trade, and the preservation and protection of public works. – See more at: http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/nycode/VIL/4/4-412#sthash.IAxHDIuZ.dpuf

Not to oversimplify it, but one very important thing in this community that can affect “business, the protection of its property, the safety, health, comfort, and general welfare of its inhabitants, the protection of their property, the preservation of peace and good order, the suppression of vice, the benefit of trade, and the preservation and protection of public works” is the School District. The village board does not govern over the School District, but should take interest in its activities for the general welfare of villages inhabitants.

Another note: because one or two residents walk in a CUP event, paid for tickets to hear the candidates speak and then ask sincere questions about town does not mean there is a political marriage between the two. Any resident who wants to pay for a ticket and contribute positively to the dialog at a CUP event is welcomed.

Another Quote from C.U.P.

Dirty money is dirty money no matter how you spin it. That seems a little abrasive, but the connections will be made no matter how you word it. A good stand would have been to not accept their donation and in the name of  your mission “broken government in Schiller Park that needs professionals to help guide our town in the next 100 years, end nepotism, cronyism and patronage.” you should have said thanks but no thanks. Accept and answer their questions, but not their contributions.

We will never kick out anyone who wants to listen, and is a resident and has questions and engage in positive dialogue. Thanks Again.

Closing statement from a C.U.P. Post

But you will remove them from your Facebook page?

Do you know who else doesn’t want to discuss things openly, and repeatedly requests private meetings? Roy F McCampbell. So basically you do not want to discuss voters questions on a public forum devoted to your run for trustee? Is this the stance of you and both your running mates?

Screen Shot 2014-11-14 at 10.20.55 AMThis is going to sound personal, and I will say right now that it is not. Kenneth McNeil seems to be speaking for his entire party with these comments. He has established on his other pages that free speech, and open dialogue is something he is genuinely afraid of. Any member of any of his pages that questions or criticizes him is promptly removed. He is not open to any sort of debate, and has made that very clear. On one of his pages he has stated that he would only accept links from “Scholarly” sources. Lets face facts, those are his personally run pages, and are for him to do with as he pleases, and basically so is the C.U.P. page, but is this the type of person we want filling a village trustee position?

Questions are welcome here, but don’t ask any questions! “The residents want the village politicians out of School District 81 elections” I would bet dollars to dognuts the residents are Roy F McCampbell, David Stachura (and his wife), And Patricia Godziszewski. “They are only their to serve THEMSELVES” I thought you were staying out of the School politics, but you just described the current board leadership. You are running for office to represent, and protect the residents of the village of Schiller Park. I am truly sorry Mr McNeil, but you lost more then a few votes today.

Here is some items as i see it:

   1. Ken McNeil’s attendance track record during his tenure on the school board speaks for itself.

   2. He is against any opposing opinions of any sort, and is not open to other peoples thoughts or ideas.

   3. He has taken the stance to turn a blind eye to other issues in the village that are a hot button, or would cause difficult questions.

   4. Other then poor attendance at school board meetings he has no other experience (that I know of) that would apply to village management.

   5. He has made an official party statement that he has no problems accepting political donations from an individual that is under indictment for Official Misconduct and theft of public funds.

   6. He has made an official party statement that he will not get involved with the situation in the School District (caused by the man contributing money in item #5), and its problems. Cronyism anyone?

The three of you lost my vote from the words of one man before the petitions have even been turned in.

I will post the screen shots of his C.U.P. page as it is currently shown, and then as it was originally before he deleted the comments, and questions.
